“I shake my paper gently – it sounds like the wind.
I tap it with my fingertips and hear the rain begin.
Folding, smoothing, make it flat.
Now I wear it as a hat.
Then scrunching like a __________
And tearing, ripping __________
It floats. It falls just like __________
Landing quietly on the floor.”
Today, we are going to use a musical instrument – paper! Grab a sheet of paper and follow the actions in the poem. Can you fill in the missing words? What does your paper sound like when you scrunch it or rip it?
You could try using different types of paper e.g. newspaper, tissue paper, wrapping paper. Do they make different noises?
