Outside your person write words or phrases to describe what Arthur looks like, his interests, things he does, clothes he wears.
Inside your person write words or phrases to describe Arthur’s personality and what he might be thinking in the image we have looked at.
If you have two different colour pens then choose one colour for inside and one colour for outside.

Pick one picture out of the six. Create a story for the person in your image following the points below. You will need to write in first person

The Iron Man

Re-read the start of the book up to the end of page 3. Notice how the Iron Man is described. Write down what we are told about the Iron Man. The author has made great use of similes. Think about how this helps us to imagine what the Iron Man is like.

Answers the questions given in full sentences. You can check your answers afterwards using the answer sheet.

Passover

Last week you did a reading comprehension to introduce you to our work on Passover. As you are now aware, Jewish people eat special food that represents different things. They use a special plate called a Seder Plate.

Look at the PowerPoint slides to help you understand the meaning of the Seder plate.

Draw and label a seder plate, the different foods that are eaten and what each food represents.

Having dreams and setting our goals makes us feel good and positive.
Sometimes our dreams do not work out. This means that we need to be ‘resilient’.
Read the scenarios below where things have not gone to plan for these children.

·         The holiday is cancelled because a relative of Roisin has to go into

I would like you to include some learning time, some relaxing time, some family time, some outdoor/exercise time and of course food time. Try and include realistic times next to everything to make sure that you stick to it. Hopefully this will help you to organise your week a little bit and make you feel more confident about what you are doing every day.

Today’s lesson is going to be a SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) lesson where we are learning about parenthesis. I would recommend watching the video that I have filmed as it goes through it more thoroughly.

Enjoy a final rest at Shadowly Caves to compose a short jingle that will persuade the Gatekeeper (who’s partial to a jolly tune or two) to let you into Dragon Vine Towers. Be as creative as possible with your lyrics – between four and eight lines – and create a simple rhythm pattern. You can clap a rhythm, use the one I attached or find a soundtrack online to go with your lyrics then record your jingles using sound recorders.

English	Today’s lesson is based on chapter 4 So what Do You Say? Please find the chapter of the book (PDF file) for you to read on your own, or you can follow along with Mrs Kaur’s reading of the chapter. Only up to page 60 at first! Follow along with the video and then plan your balanced argument (main task). Don’t forget to have clear points for and against the main question and stay balanced until the conclusion (make sure for and against sections are roughly equal in content). Please see my modelled example for support on a Bronze plan.

Use other source material to reveal the truth. (Some search engines use web crawler software that browses the web for relevant results based on keywords or phrases.) Remember that, just because a website ranks highly and appears near the top of the search results page, the information it provides isn’t necessarily true, relevant or age-appropriate. What other examples of spoof websites can you find? Always be wary and check information from multiple sources.

English	Today you will be writing out your balanced argument for the question: Should Alex trust Blunt? You did most of the hard work yesterday. Task 1: think of as many features as you can for writing a balanced argument. It should be roughly one side of A4. Use the structure from your plan. Expand on your initial ideas and consider all the features. You may use my modelled example to help you. If possible, get someone else in your family to check over your writing.

English	Today’s learning is focusing on another plan for a balanced argument. In Stormbreaker, Alan Blunt asks Alex to take on the role of a spy (his uncle’s job). This leads us nicely to a main question where we can consider for /against: Should Children Carry Out the Work of an Adult? Refer to my modelled example for help in filling out your plan (also attached).
GPS	Please work through the Powerpoint named Week 1 Main and Subordinate clauses lesson. Work through each one, reading the information and answering any questions, the answers should appear in the next slide so you can see straight away if you got them right or not. You will be sent a log in for SPAG.com, which is where I will set tests each week and you fill out the quiz online. The first column has your full name, second column is your login, third tells you which year group and the fourth column is your password. This week on SPAG.com you need to complete a previous paper test from 2016.
Topic	Watch the video in which we talk about the dangers that your computers, smartphones etc. can face. Use the web to find out about computer malware, including viruses, worms and spyware. Generate questions based on your research and discuss how they might be able to find answers. Highlight any technical vocabulary found in your research and use an online dictionary to clarify what the words mean before adding them to your glossary. Use the terms when writing about computer malware. Read media reports, watch video clips and read quotes from people or companies that have been affected by a cyberattack. Identify methods and techniques that people can use to protect their computers, including firewalls, antivirus software, and updating the operating system regularly.

Comprehension	Please find the comprehension document named The Battle of Britain. Please read the extract carefully. Then answer the questions from Set A. Don’t forget to keep referring to the text to help you answer the questions. Find the answers at the bottom of the document to self –assess how well you did. If you want, you can also answer Set B questions! Please find a video of me reading the extract aloud and modelling how to answer a few questions.
Topic	Your task is to become a web crawler and find out as much information as possible about a favourite topic. Bookmark useful websites to refer back to later and copy and paste useful, relevant text and images into a blank Google Doc, Word document, or PowerPoint! Save the document to a digital folder. Remember how to search *effectively and safely* on the web. Tips for effective web searches include using the wild card symbol (*), when you are unsure about how to spell a word, using several words in the same search to find more exact matches, using quotation marks to force an exact match, excluding a particular word by using a minus sign and using words that have a specialist or unique meaning to narrow down results.
